Cabra Castle revelled in a weekend of extraordinary milestones and jubilant celebrations, welcoming back Peter and Eileen Hickey, the first couple to get married in Cabra Castle in 1991, for the occasion of their daughter Leona’s wedding. The weekend also saw Cabra Castle celebrate its 6000th wedding.
"It's an honour to witness love stories come full circle at Cabra Castle. Welcoming back the Hickey family, who marked the beginning of our wedding legacy in 1991,on the same weekend we celebrated our 6000th wedding, encapsulates the timeless joy we create in Cabra Castle". said Howard Corscadden, Romantic Castles of Ireland and Cabra Castle's Managing Director.
Filled with nostalgia, Peter and Eileen shared their cherished memories of their historic day 32 years ago. Their daughter and her husband Padraig, now a part of Cabra Castle's legacy, embraced the Castle's timeless allure as the venue for her own special day, creating a truly magical moment for the family.

As if that weren't enough cause for celebration, Cabra Castle hosted its 6,000th wedding the very next day with Amy and Sean. This remarkable milestone underscores the castle's status as one of Ireland’s leading wedding destinations, chosen by thousands of couples to start their journey into married life. The 6,000th wedding was a testament to the Castle's enduring appeal, as love continues to bloom within its historic walls.

Howard Corscadden expressed his gratitude to all the couples who have chosen Cabra Castle as the setting for their weddings over the years. "This is a proud milestone for our family, celebrating the 6000th wedding at Cabra Castle. It’s been an honour to be part of so many beautiful weddings over the past 32 years and we look forward to many more years of creating magical moments for our couples."
The celebration of these momentous occasions serves as a reflection of Cabra Castle's commitment to providing an unparalleled wedding experience. With its picturesque surroundings, impeccable service and history steeped in romance, Cabra Castle continues to be a cherished destination for couples seeking to make their wedding day truly unforgettable. The opening of ‘The Granary’ earlier this year, a custom-built ceremony venue adjacent to the Castle, is a testament to the Castle’s ongoing commitment to both preserving history and embracing the evolving needs of wedding couples.
